where blood lines and heart spells battled.
My father holding me between his inheritance
and the passion my being gladly cared.

Sleep shed its fragrance far from my bedroom,
thoughts of ruin sealed my fragile light,
yet a new day proved a will to glisten,

What heart desires should never be chained,
for distress is a stain that spirit can glare.

but find sadness engulfing what hope flared.

The memories of fond liberty are bleached
when dreadfulness maims what smile adorned.
Cursed! My beauty, ragged in reddish wounds,

Pretty much the best Black/Speed Metal I've listened to since I learned about Evil Invaders and Vulture. Everything you'd love to be reminded of about this musical era is there. The influences are what you'd expect too: Motörhead, Venom, Bathory, early Slayer, Celtic Frost; aggressive vocals, tortured guitar solos, pounding drums; everything is fast, clear and still a little grimy, but without reverb cranked up to the max. The track "A Natural Apostasy" is probably the most diverse on the album. It actually has quite a nice build up from the start. Following that is a flowing heavier section and towards the end is an almost folk-like guitar piece coupled with a meaningful and well played flute segment by Megan Sykes.
